I was woke up early this morning with a phone call from the terminate inspector. He came to do our annually termite inspection… I did laundry, fixed lunch, and went to chat. It was good having Lynne back in chat today… We are expecting ice and 11 inches of snow and winds up to 50 mph tonight and tomorrow. I am not looking forward to that. Our neighbors, Billie and Sean called to see if we needed anything from the grocery store. I didn’t sleep well last night and I am blaming it on the steroid shot I got yesterday. It seems to do that to me. But the foot is feeling better… We are at 74 degrees today. I wish it would be like this all the time. This morning I went to see the foot doctor again. He gave me a steroid injection in the hurt area of my foot. He said I not only have a sprained foot but also have tendonitis. This is in my good foot. The other foot has a Desmoid tumor in it… We left the doctors and went to visit some old friends. Jim, Dorothy, and Merry their daughter. Jim and Dorothy are 90 years old and they have been married for 69 years. They were happy to see us. I feel bad that we have waited so long to visit them. We are going to try and do better… I have to tell you about our beautiful weather in the middle 70’s. I didn’t post a blog last night because I was busy having a big Pity Party. With the Asthma and having to use the rescue inhaler twice a day, my lower back was hurting really bad and then the sprained foot. Not to mention I have Alzheimer’s. I know there are a lot of people worse off than me but last night it was all about me… Today is a much better day. Thank you God… I ran the dust mop, cleaned bathroom, took care of the house plants, and did laundry… Brenda, the nurse’s aide and Brender, the nurse came to visit me this afternoon… Lori had surgery this morning and doctor said it all went well. I slept well last night on the new mattress and I didn’t even toss and turn like I usually do to fall asleep… This morning I had an appointment with the foot doctor. He said I have a sprained foot. I didn’t know what was wrong with my foot but I knew it hurt. He said he could put me in a brace but he said it would be very uncomfortable. I will go back Friday and he will give me a cortisone shot. I don’t understand why he didn’t do it today. He said it was something to do with insurance… We left the doctors and went to Tinker Air Force Base Pharmacy. We picked up a couple sacks of medicines. Then we went to the commissary. Our new beds were delivered this morning; we got two twin extra long. Last night Dave went for a sleep study in Edmond. So I was alone all night. I wasn’t afraid because I had our four dogs. He doesn’t have any results from the sleep study yet… Today after chat we went into town to look at mattresses. We found one we liked and they will deliver it on Monday. After that we went to get groceries… I am tired and my back has been hurting really bad. We woke up early and got ready for our trip to Iowa Park, Texas. It was a good day for traveling. We arrived there at 11:00. Lynne and I sat in our car and visited while Dave was visiting with Larry. The fire inspector was there going through all their stuff and that took a very long time. We had a chill factor of below zero this morning and I had to get out in it. I had an appointment for a pulmonary function test and then after that I had an appointment with Dr. Fixley. We had about an hour and half to kill between appointments so while we were there we went down and had lunch at the Heart Hospital. It was very good… While I was waiting for my test some lady came up for her appointment and she was told that her appointment was tomorrow. We have had a beautiful day with lots of sunshine, temperatures in the 50’s and very little wind. Not many times can I say we have very little wind… I went with Dave for a doctor’s appointment with Dr. Mosca, the doctor who did his kidney surgery almost five years ago. It sure doesn’t seem like December here in Piedmont, Oklahoma. It was 71 degrees today… I made a phone call to AT&T and complained about the phone calls coming in the middle of the night since we got U-Verse. The caller ID shows it is a call from our number and of course when we answer no one is there. I had a horrible night last night. I was awake all night and I am blaming the steroids I am taking and to think I only have two days down out of ten. At least I think I am not coughing as much now… Charlene, the nurse came to see me and gave me a Vitamin B/12 shot. She said I should take a sleeping pill tonight so I can get some sleep and be ready for our family gathering tomorrow night. I will for sure take a sleeping pill… Dave and I got the sugar cookie dough ready and it is in the refrigerator for tomorrow. It is a family tradition that I started back when the boys were very small. We use the same cookie recipe and same cookie cutters. Tomorrow all the grandkids and great grandkids will join in cutting and decorating cookies and David will be there rolling out the dough… I made a spinach quiche for supper and it was really good. We barley made it to 40 degrees today and the wind chill was much worse than that. We did have sunshine though… Marcia, the physical therapist came to see me. Then the lady came and brought my tens unit and showed me how to use it… Later a man from AT&T came and hooked us up to their Internet and phone service… I cleaned the bathrooms, did a load of laundry and got it all folded and put away, went to chat, and fixed lunch and supper… David, our floor man came by and brought us some samples of carpet to use at our back door so the dogs can wipe their feet before coming into the house. What a busy day we have had… Carlene, the nurse came this morning to see me… We took Sugar and Mindy in to be groomed. From there we went for my appointment with Dr. Fixley. He ordered a chest X-ray and that showed my lungs were clear. He ordered Spiriva for me to take along with the Advair 500 twice a day. He said if I am not better in a week then I am to call him. I sure hope this extra medicine will help me feel better… I got my nails done, went to the credit union, grocery store, and then back to pick up our dogs. This morning physical therapy was here early to give me the ultra sound treatments. My back and neck are feeling much better… I ran the dust mop, fixed lunch, chatted with my DASNI friends, and then we went shopping for our Christmas present at Harry’s TV and
Appliance. They were having their Christmas party today. Santa and Mrs. Santa were there. Egg Nog, spiced cider, cookies, and popcorn. Plus they were giving away houseplants and calendars. Dave and I found the perfect Sony Television for our bedroom. The one we had in there was a twenty some year old Pioneer 50 inch rear projection screen. It has been like grand central station here today. The Nurse’s aide came, then the physical therapist, and then the nurse came. Nurse’s aide helped with making the bed and dusting, PT gave me ultra sound treatment to neck, shoulders, and lower back, and the nurse gave me my vitamin b/12 injection. This morning Dave and I were up early to go for our doctor appointments. Dave went to see Dr. Seres for a follow up appointment on the procedure he had done. He was told he had Barretts Esophagus. The doctor said they caught it early so that is a good thing.
I had the snow crab legs and steak and Dave had the seafood platter. It was really good. The waitress was so sweet she put on gloves and helped me crack the snow crab legs. She could do it better than me and I really appreciated her. I may still be there if it weren’t for her help… I went to see Dr. Fixley. He said I had a bad case of Asthma. He started me on Prednisone. I started out with ten pills today, nine tomorrow, and eight the next day and so on till they are all gone. This morning I took my shower then got my day started. I have been busy as a bee today… I have been clearing a path for the maids visit tomorrow.
